ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR:
Reporting to the President, the Accounting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate & efficient completion of all accounting operations. Your role will vary between leading our AR/AP team’s work and making your own hands-on contributions to financial transactions and reporting. This position focuses on leading and enhancing our Accounting operations in a part-time or full-time capacity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions which are processed by our Finance team; contribute as a back-up for data-entry and record-keeping when required
Manage bank accounts, prepare timely reconciliations
Prepare reconciliations and financial remittances for government filings to be completed by external Accounting firm
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
Uphold financial filing systems, verify adherence to internal processes, recommend efficiency improvements to our accounting & reporting systems
Maintain accuracy of historical data and compile summaries for reporting, budgeting and forecasting
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years experience in a bookkeeping, finance and/or accounting role including accounts payable & receivable, coding, and transactional accounting
Accounting / Bookkeeping degree or certificate
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and digital data management tools
Highly adaptable at learning and utilizing new software, systems & technologies
