Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Financing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial financing activities.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and manage loan agreements with investors and lenders including debt and equity on land loans, new construction loans, term loans and loan renewals.
- Ensure timely compliance with investors and lender requirements.
- Coordinate and manage interactions with lawyers, lenders, investors, and originators.
- Review and interpret loan documentation.
- Prepare business cases and shareholder recommendations for approval.
- Create PowerPoint presentations for shareholders on acquisition opportunities, market data and new development projects.
- Build rent rolls, financing models, pro formas, and budgets based on company or appraiser data.
- Liaise with outside legal counsel and Asset Management departments.
- Provide requested documents to lenders and mortgage brokers during underwriting and post-close covenants.
- Coordinate closings, new financing and refinancing with Finance, Investor Relations, and Acquisitions.
- Communicate with Operations teams post-financing approval.
- Enter data into cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Drive, Yardi).
- Monitor the market to identify opportunities and threats.
- Identify and manage risks using appropriate risk management techniques.
- Develop new relationships with investors and lenders by participating in industry events
- Help coordinate equity raise between Shareholders and lenders
- Evaluate refinancing opportunities with a focus on growth and reinvestment potential.
- Consistently monitor current portfolio financing structure as well as a construction project debt structure and restructure
- Participate in legal structuring for new developments coordinating with accountant, tax specialist and legal counsel
- Participate in managers' meetings and monthly reporting to shareholders
Qualifications:
- Proficient in English and French, both verbal and written.
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience in financial services. MBA, CMA, CFA, or CA is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial real estate, particularly income-producing real estate (multi-family).
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Accountability, dependability and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of CMHC and residential lending practices.
- A high degree of integrity, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and Adobe.
- Comfortable with learning new computer systems and technologies.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car.

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
