Job description
The Accounts Receivable Manager oversees and manages accounts receivable functions, including managing invoices, handling collection of payments, and managing daily financial transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals
- Monitor processing of invoices
- Ensure timely collection of payments
- Conduct credit checks
- Negotiate with clients in non-payment cases
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forecasting reports
- Organize records of invoices, bills, and deposits
- Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with the law
- Ensure all team members follow the accounting principles
- Preparing accruals and reconciling sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Performing general ledger posting and monthly/year-end reconciliations
- Preparing aging reports
- Process invoices
- Job costing
- Follow up and resolve any problems or inquiries regarding payments for the organization
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain, procurement, planning, manufacturing, or related field with strong experience with strategic sourcing, operations, and demand management
- 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience required
- An understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies, and strategic planning
- Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV or JustFood ERP) including utilizing and developing KPIs and other performance metrics to increase efficiency, highlight performance gaps, and reduce overall costs associated with Accounting
- Excellent computer skills including advanced data entry (alphanumeric); advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (routine and complex formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, charts/graphs, etc.) and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures
