The Accounting Clerk plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounting for the company. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to learn a variety of tasks and achieve a good understanding of the full end to end accounting cycle. This includes regular interactions with our front-line brokers, clients and problem solving within our amazing Accounting team. Waypoint is growing and this position will have the opportunity to grow within the Accounting team!

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively oversee the day-to-day functions of the Accounts Receivable (A/R) department and ensure compliance with the company’s A/R policies and procedures.
- Main activities within the A/R department include: all areas related to client payments (payment application, daily AR balance monitoring, client A/R collection and NSF collection calls), direct bill reconciliation, dealership billings, and the company’s internal financing program.
- Prepare and present comprehensive monthly A/R reports to leadership, providing key insights into A/R performance, trends, and collection issues, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning for the department.
- Lead monthly A/R meetings with department leaders to review results and highlight key collection issues for leadership.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to 4-5 direct staff to achieve organizational and personal objectives.
- Act as backup for critical A/R tasks and ability to support day-to-day tasks.
- Troubleshooting gaps in the current process and implementing improvements through an eliminate, simplify, standardize, automate mindset.
- Complete and review A/R Monthly General Ledger reconciliations.

REQUIREMENTS
- CPA Accounting Designation will be an asset.
- 3-5 years of accounting and finance experience in a service or retail industry.
- You enjoy being part of a team with a mix of face to face and virtual interaction.
- Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
- Building and maintaining relationships comes natural to you.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work priorities.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience having difficult conversations.
- Take initiative to identify and address issues or opportunities, solve problems and address conflict.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in Microsoft Excel with Pivot Tables and other formulas (VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
