Norcan is a complete hydraulic service and sales company established in 1974 and is now 8 branches throughout western Canada. We service customers in a variety of industries: Marine, Forestry, Mining, Material Handling, Original Equipment Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Production facilities. We are in a growing industry with a diverse set of skills and abilities that are critical in the operation of industrial and mobile equipment throughout the country.
We are currently recruiting a Controller to work from our Head Office in North Vancouver on a Temporary full-time basis. This position has the potential to become a permanent full-time position.
This position will suit a candidate who has a CPA designation and can appreciate a somewhat flexible schedule in a professional work environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining working papers supporting the Month-end and Year-end financial statements
Full cycle accounting
GST/PST filings preparation and payment
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Bank reconciliation
Preparing the Month-end and year-end files
Inventory reconciliation and reserve estimates
Custom reports as required
Qualifications and Experience:
Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
Able to correct errors in complex accounting entries
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges
CPA or equivalent experience
Superior communication skills, both written and oral
Strong PC skills: Excel, Word, Outlook
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Inventory & calculating reasonable reserves estimates
Business Intelligence
Familiar with ERP systems (Eclipse)
Experience in a Service and Distribution industry
Controller experience
Budgeting experience
