We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Finance Team at a Nova Scotia owned & operated technology company! The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a key role in managing the companies accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and assisting the Director of Finance with strategic financial planning. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies, and the skillset to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting, strategic planning, and analytical support to the Director of Finance.
- Assist with financial analysis, budget preparation, and reporting.
- Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of account reconciliations.
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Managing and coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax filings.
- Supporting the completion of month-end close activities.
- Developing working papers for year-end audits.
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Business, with a focus on Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general accounting.
- CPA designation is preferred, but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Dynamics GP is preferred.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new processes and systems effectively.
- Strong work ethic with a positive and collaborative team approach.
- Proven analytical, planning, and prioritization abilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$82,500.00 per year
