Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, this position will be an integral component of the Tempur Sealy Finance department. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payments received, application of credit terms, posting of credit memos and resolving discrepancies, with an emphasis on customer service. In addition, this role is responsible for collaborating with peers to contribute in improving work processes and supporting Tempur Sealy Canada’s positive, dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and monitoring customer accounts and all applicable aging reports;
- Interacting with customers by telephone and e-mail regarding past due accounts and payments;
- Performing customer reconciliation and applying credits;
- Posting payments to appropriate customer accounts;
- Making bank deposits for payment cheques as required;
- Process account adjustments;
- Resolving billing discrepancies and short payments;
- Performing customer reconciliations and process credit memos;
- Maintaining detailed follow-up notes in the accounting system for each account; and
- Responsible for reducing accounts receivable delinquency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College diploma in Business or related discipline;
- 2-3 years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable function, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution operation;
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office Suite of products, including, but not limited to Excel and Outlook;
- Bilingual French is a requirement.
