What You Will Do
- Perform Accounts Payable functions including completing payment requisitions, processing payments, distributing, and mailing out cheques, filing.
- Perform Accounts Receivable functions including preparing invoices and following up on receivables, processing credit card transactions and cheque deposits.
- Administer petty cash disbursements and prepares monthly reconciliation.
- Reconcile daily transactions with source data and prepares related accounting journals.
- Data entry for Moneris daily reports (credit card transactions).
- Assist with the month end process by preparing monthly journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of information for year-end, budget, and audit.
- Assist with preparing statutory returns including GST and EHT.
- Performs accounting duties for other related organizations.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Your Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector is an asset
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with database systems
- Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles
- Professional manner, good judgment, accountability, and flexibility
- Excellent data entry skills
- Interpersonal effectiveness and teamwork
- Detail and deadline oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Problem solving and judgement
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
