What You Will Do

Perform Accounts Payable functions including completing payment requisitions, processing payments, distributing, and mailing out cheques, filing.
Perform Accounts Receivable functions including preparing invoices and following up on receivables, processing credit card transactions and cheque deposits.
Administer petty cash disbursements and prepares monthly reconciliation.
Reconcile daily transactions with source data and prepares related accounting journals.
Data entry for Moneris daily reports (credit card transactions).
Assist with the month end process by preparing monthly journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Assist with the preparation of information for year-end, budget, and audit.
Assist with preparing statutory returns including GST and EHT.
Performs accounting duties for other related organizations.
Other duties, as assigned.

Your Skills & Qualifications

Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector is an asset
Proficient with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
Experience working with database systems
Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles
Professional manner, good judgment, accountability, and flexibility
Excellent data entry skills
Interpersonal effectiveness and teamwork
Detail and deadline oriented
Strong organizational skills
Problem solving and judgement
Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
