Our client a reputable property management company is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable operations for their clients third-party clients. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate rent and chargeable item processing, minimizing outstanding receivables, and fostering positive relationships with tenants, internal teams, and clients. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property management, a deep understanding of Ontario's Residential Tenancies Act, and proficiency with Yardi systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Monitor and minimize delinquent accounts and outstanding receivables.
- Generate and review accounts receivable aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and collection activities.
- Collaborate with Collection Specialists and operational teams to reduce bad debts.
- Handle legal matters concerning tenants, including legal notices and the application of Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) judgments in accordance with the RTA.
- Develop and present monthly accounts receivable dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts receivable operations.
- Act as the escalation point for tenant inquiries and maintain positive tenant relationships.
- Ensure team members are cross-trained to manage all aspects of their responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing accounts receivable, in property management or real estate.
- Expertise in the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and related legal frameworks.
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager 7S; familiarity with Property Vista is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants, clients, and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and achieving targets in fast-paced environments.
