Lead Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities and Duties
· Lead and support a team of four colleagues in the A/R department
· Maintain receivables between credit terms and credit limit
· Wholly own the pricing process, from entering/updating markups in the system to sending daily price notices to customers
· Keep up to date with fuel taxes, ensuring any changes are reflected in the system and following proper procedure with entering fuel tax exemptions
· Call/email customers with overdue balances or approaching credit limit to collect payment
· Communicate with clients about our daily pricing, billing discrepancies and other questions and concerns
· Create new accounts, deposit cheques and process incoming mail concerning billing and invoicing
· Audit ledgers to ensure correct information, such as billing addresses and invoice numbers
· Provide monthly reports to management: bank reconciliation, other A/R explanations (Credit Notes, Debit Notes, Adjustments), insured A/R balance listing
· Provide credit references as applicable
· Complete work in an accurate and timely manner
· Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
· Experience with Sage 300
· Expertise with Excel including experience with VLOOKUP and pivot tables
· Experience with picking up new tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision
· Strong command of the English language, must possess strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
· Must have customer service competencies and the ability to communicate clearly and tactfully while maintaining uppermost in mind the needs of the company
· Excellent time management skills.
· Proven ability to work well independently or in a team environment
· Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
