POSITION OVERVIEW
First Nations Insurance Services Limited Partnership is seeking a detailed orientated and results driven Controller .
The position is based in Saskatoon and will work closely with leadership to support two insurance brokerages, First Nations Insurance Services Limited Partnership and La Roche McDonald Agencies Ltd. This position will provide strategic insights to support decision making and requires a proactive leader with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial management. The Controller will ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
First Nations Insurance Services Limited Partnership (FNISLP) is an insurance brokerage that specializes in group health benefits, including group health and pension plans. The brokerage also provides individual insurance and pension products. Our sister company, La Roche McDonald Agencies Ltd provides residential, commercial and auto insurance as well as property management services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the processing of payroll, accounts payables, and accounts receivables
· Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements and reports
· Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective controls
· Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support strategic initiatives
· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting standards
· Lead annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
· Monitor cash flow, investments and other financial assets
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
· Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a collaborative environment
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce degree
· Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
· Minimum 5 years experience in accounting and/or finance
· Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of consolidated financial statements
· Knowledge of employee benefit plans
· Knowledge of budget plans
· Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $96,973.00-$106,918.00 per year
