Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting, exceptional technical skills, and a client-centered approach to delivering full-cycle bookkeeping services. This role involves managing multiple client accounts, handling complex reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Record transactions using QuickBooks.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage complex adjustments.
- Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts.
- Follow up with clients to gather and manage missing documentation.
- Analyze sales data and post summaries into accounting software.
- Prepare financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
- File GST and PST returns for clients.
- Process payroll efficiently and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, including multi-entity accounts.
- Proactively handle client accounts, identifying and addressing discrepancies, client needs, and process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, with a proven ability to manage complex accounts and provide client-facing services.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with CaseWare or taxcyle is an asset.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong communication abilities.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Analytical Skills:
- Skilled in identifying financial trends, resolving discrepancies, and applying strategic approaches to bookkeeping tasks.
