Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Accounting Specialist on a permanent basis on our Finance team.
This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.

This role will allow you to use your knowledge and expertise to provide advice and recommendations on complex transactions across the Co-operative Retailing System!
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical expertise, direction and support to Ag & Energy business combinations, acquisitions and complex transactions teams. This includes providing guidance on implications of transactions, providing analysis and interpretation of transactions and responding to internal and external stakeholder questions.
- Participate in project planning and analysis including collaborating with team leaders, providing strategic advice and support, making recommendations and providing mentorship and troubleshooting to team members.
- Mitigate risk and liability by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and corporate policies and procedures, ensuring situations are resolved to contain potential risks.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal and external professionals at multiple levels and exercise a high level of rigor and attention to detail in written and verbal communication.
Who you’ll work with:
The Team: You will work closely with the Corporate Accounting team and will report into the Manger, Ag & Energy Accounting. This team strives to cultivate a culture of teamwork and collaboration to provide the best and most accurate service to the CRS.
The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Finance business unit and collaborate across the organization with project teams, local Co-op leaders and other business unit leaders.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Finance and:
- Have 5-7 years experience in both accounting and financial reporting
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business, with a focus in Accounting (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
