Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping/accounting and be proficient in quickbooks software. This role is essential in assisting clients with their tax preparation needs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. A minimum of 5 years experience in this field is required.
Duties
- Prepare and file personal canadian tax returns for individuals and sole proprietor businesses.
- Analyze financial information to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.
- Utilize when needed accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage for efficient tax preparation. QBO or quickbooks desktop is our main source of data
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist clients with inquiries regarding their tax situations and provide guidance on tax-related issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients. We provide educational update yearly as well to attend.
- Collaborate with other financial professionals to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
- Follow our in office procedures and compliances, collaborate with others in office to review and finalize files.
- Support budgeting and financial auditing processes as needed with supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar financial role is preferred 5 years plus. Tax Cycle preferred software.
- Proficiency and certification in accounting software QuickBooksand QBO , bonus if you have other accounting softwares such as Sage and Xero.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellance in accounts payable processes and account reconciliation techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Accounting or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 44 per week
