We’re on the hunt for a talented Cloud Accountant / Team Leader to join our dynamic company. This role isn’t just about crunching numbers; it’s about shaping the future. As part of our leadership meetings, you’ll continuously learn new technologies, train staff, and collaborate with clients to enhance their small businesses and non-profit organizations. Plus, you’ll have a hand in shaping our young and growing company.
Responsibilities
As our Cloud Accountant / Team Leader, you’ll wear many hats:
- Customer Ownership: Be the first point of contact for our valued clients.
- Tech Guru: Recommend and implement cutting-edge technology stacks for our customers.
- Bookkeeping Pro: Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for clients and review staff work.
- Onboarding Expert: Onboard new customers and catch up on their bookkeeping.
- Compliance Hero: Meet tax filing deadlines (GST, PST, T4A, T5018, etc.).
- Business Advisor: Provide small business advisory services.
- Financial Reporting Whiz: Prepare monthly financial reports for our clients.
- Team Player: Collaborate with colleagues, create workflows, and train new staff.
- Year-End Prep: Get files ready for year-end accounting and income tax filings.
- Analytical Insights: Craft custom management reports for our diverse clientele.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive Canadian experience, completing full cycle accounting.
- Canadian Savvy: Familiarity with Canadian small business owners and entrepreneurs.
- Tech Wizardry: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, troubleshooting technical issues, and setting up cloud integrations.
- Toolbelt: Comfort with various tech tools (think Dext, Fathom, Payworks, Karbon, Plooto, Google Workspace, Shopify, PayPal, DropBox, etc.).
- Excel Mastery: Proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- CRA Know-How: Experience with CRA Represent a Client and resolving reviews, exams, and various requests.
- Analytical Ninja: Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Deadline Juggler: Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Education: An accounting-related degree is preferred.
