We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team. This role will be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks, including cash management, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily cash management, including monitoring cash positions and initiating fund transfers.
- Prepare and analyze daily cash position summaries for senior management.
- Record and reconcile monthly journal entries and balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and other assigned accounts.
- Maintain accurate prepaid expense records and amortization schedules.
- Timely file and remit sales tax and other relevant taxes to government authorities.
- Reconcile tax entries, remittances, and receivables/payables.
- Assist with tax audits conducted by government authorities.
- Manage lease accounting for various assets, including computer, equipment, and vehicle leases.
- Maintain accurate records for property and fleet insurance policies.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers for claims and policy renewals.
- Prepare monthly foreign exchange analysis for operational and capital expenditures.
- Support various accounting tasks as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation preferred
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including ERP system usage and report generation. Telecom industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge of commodity taxes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
