We are a family owned and operated BC winery located in Kelowna seeking a full-time Financial Controller. Our dynamic and multi-faceted winery has been established and well known as one of Canada’s top, organic wineries for over three decades.
The right candidate will be a self-motivated, positive individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. To be an analytical thinker, possess strong knowledge of human resources and inventory management, is essential. Experience in the wine and/or hospitality industry, as well as a CMA or equivalent designation, are preferred.
A summary of ongoing responsibilities are as follows:
· Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
· Close monitoring of accounting records and transactions.
· Monthly inventory reconciliation.
· Financial reporting and projections.
· Cash flow management and reporting to management.
· F&B Monthly reporting.
· Monthly and quarterly reporting to the bank.
· Monthly Filing and payment of PST, GST, Excise
· Quarterly Worksafe reporting and payment. Quarterly EHT instalments.
· Communication with government entities.
· Annual reconciliation and invoicing of grower payments.
· Completion of government surveys.
· Preparation of the year end and communication with accounting firm.
· Preparation of annual review and reports to the lenders.
· Management and coaching of the accounting team.
· Work closely with the accounting team to streamline and modernize the accounting procedures.
· Work closely with management on systems, operations, and human resources.
