Our law firm is hiring a full-time position for a Bookkeeper/Administrative Support. This role requires an individual who is highly-organized, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with all levels of staff.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting – General bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliation of trust accounts, compliance with Law Society accounting rules
- Financial – Preparing monthly financial statements and productivity reports, preparing annual budget, completing all necessary Law Society reporting
- General Administration – Providing direct administrative and office support to lawyers and staff, general office management
- Professional Management – Liaising with the Law Society of Alberta, attending to all professional membership and insurance requirements, liaising with accountants and other professional advisors
- IT – Basic technology support, coordination with external IT
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years prior bookkeeping/accounting experience
- At least 3 years prior administrative experience, preferably in a legal or professional environment
- Familiarity with trust accounting rules
- Proficiency with legal software (ProLaw) and accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
