We are seeking a Controller to join our team, demonstrating both technical and leadership skills. This is an exciting opportunity as this growing family-owned feedlot is seeking a highly motivated individual that prides themselves with integrity and enjoys working as part of a team. The office is located 20 minutes north of Lethbridge in a newly renovated office in the heart of Picture Butte.
Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to:
· Manage and oversee the daily operations of accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll.
· Oversee preparation of Financial Statements, Income Statements and Cash Flow Statements.
· Prepare financial Month-end and Year-end statements.
· Lead, mentor and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Work with operations to improve processes.
· Work with auditors to facilitate reviews of the company’s financial reporting.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to share holders for strategic decision-making.
· Ensure compliance with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
· Tax strategy insights.
· Manage and track US dollars exchange transactions.
· Identify and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
· Leverage technology to improve financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
· Inventory tracking and management.
· Collaborate with industry peer group members, AMG.
· Verification of risk management software positions.
· Monitor and stay up to date with bank covenants and the companies bank obligations.
Skills & Qualifications
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
· Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks), advanced in Excel
· Knowledge of the agriculture industry is preferred.
· 3+ years of experience in financial management or senior level accounting roles preferred.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
· Stronks analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage our team.
