Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized accounting technician or bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring CRA and bank compliance along with providing management with accurate and detailed monthly reporting. We are looking for someone who understands the construction business and is able to provide an analysis of each project completed.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry and maintaining financial records.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring adherence to financial plans.
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to identify discrepancies.
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero for efficient record-keeping.
- Generate financial reports and assist in preparing statements for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Quick books Online
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, budgeting, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
