Canadian Rangeland Bison and Elk Inc. is now accepting applications for the full-time permanent position of Accounts Payable Clerk in Lacombe, Alberta. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will primarily perform accounts payable processing.

What You’ll Do
As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing and paying bills and invoices for Canadian Rangeland Bison and Elk Inc. You will be the first point of contact for our vendors, and other stakeholders who we maintain a Business-to-Business relationship with. You will execute or redirect inquiries to the appropriate resource or manager when needed. The Accounts Payable Clerk is a critical detail-oriented part of the team, and will:
- Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Enter invoices into the accounting software.
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and provide excellent customer service in person, electronically, and in telephone conversations.
- Update and manage electronic and physical files.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors, verifying their accuracy including details like amounts, dates and items. This includes reconciling vendor statements, responding to vendor inquiries, and resolving payment issues.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and other accounting procedures as needed.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Follow safety and housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures, and complying with all regulatory requirements.
Who You Are
- Detail-orientated team player capable of working independently is essential to the role.
- You have a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to organize and effectively prioritize tasks respectful of deadlines, with an ability to work under pressure and work with integrity and confidentiality.
- You have minimum of 1 year of administrative experience.
- You have demonstrated proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in excel is desired, and an understanding of various software and willingness to learn how to use new accounting software. Experience with Canopy software an asset, but not a requirement.
- You maintain positive working relationship with co-workers and provide excellent customer service.
