Scott Builders Inc. is seeking a highly organized, detailed oriented Junior Accountant to join the team! The Junior Accountant is responsible for tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card administration and other month-end processes. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills will be required as communication with vendors and internal clients will be a key component within this position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in a support role for bank reconciliation processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other financial transactional processing as required.
- Corporate credit card administration – issuance of new cards and agreements within policy, cancellation of cards/accounts, uploading transactions from online platform to ERP system and reconciliation to credit card statement.
- Vendor compliance administration including certificates of insurances, workers compensation coverage clearances and statutory declarations for holdback funds release.
- Weekly review and upload of equipment revenue transactions to ERP system.
- Manage and maintain monthly insurance working papers.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations and year-end working papers.
- Assist with client contract creation and associated administration paperwork.
- Cross training on other functional areas within the Finance team.
Requirements:
- Post Secondary diploma or Degree in a business, accounting, or related discipline (a combination of relevant industry experience and education may be considered).
- Previous experience in an accounting role with a focus on financial transactional processing and month end processes.
- Previous experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, payment regulations, budgets, and internal controls.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to prepare ad hoc reports; adaptable and quick to learn new software and systems. Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information ethically and professionally.
- Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
