Salary: $47,000 - $50,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Canadian Fishing Company (Canfisco) is a fully integrated seafood processing company with headquarters in Vancouver, BC. Canfisco operates the largest fleet of commercial fishing vessels in British Columbia, harvests over 100 million pounds of fish annually, and exports its seafood products (canned, fresh, frozen, smoked, and value-added) to 43 countries worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator to join the team and learn about our business. Our operations are complex and dynamic offering many opportunities for growth and learning.
Working as part of a small team the AP Administrator will report to the Accounting Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Receive, review, and distribute invoices for approval and coding.
o Enter approved invoices, cheque requests, and expense reports into the accounting system (AX Dynamics).
o Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding, filing, and matching of invoices with the correct purchase orders.
o Track, process and reconcile purchase orders and invoices ensuring compliance with the accounting department’s policies and procedures.
o Daily EFT payments, quick cheques and wire payments as needed.
o Answer vendor calls and respond to payment inquiries (internal and external) in a professional and timely manner.
o Assist the accounting team with month-end duties and other tasks/projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
o Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
o Proficiency in MS Excel required.
o Tech-savvy; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
o Easy to work with, collaborative, and flexible.
o Diligent and detail oriented.
o Good communication skills both written and verbal.
