Our Burnaby based leader in the recycling industry is looking for an Accounts Payable/Receivable Rockstar to play a key role in their Accounting department while making a positive environmental impact.
As the Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator reporting to the Assistant Controller, you'll be the unsung hero ensuring vendors, team members, and the financial ledgers live in perfect harmony. From reconciling vendor and bank statements to preparing payments with precision, you'll be a trusted gatekeeper of the AP world.
A Day in the Life:
- Process, post, and verify AP invoices with ninja-like accuracy, ensuring everything lines up perfectly in the ERP system
- Communicator Extraordinaire: Liaise with Operations and other departments like a champion of collaboration
- Reconcile vendor statements, answer inquiries, and keep our partners smiling
- Prepare EFTs, wires, and good old-fashioned cheques to keep the cash flowing
- Monitor the accounting inbox, redirect emails, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks
- Support ledger reconciliations and assist in month-end duties
- AR Backup: Jump in to support accounts receivable and collections when needed
What You Bring to the Table:
- Exceptional Attention to Detail: You spot errors from a mile away and make sure the information flows from system to system
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational wizard who thrives on juggling deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results
- Customer service oriented and able to work well with both internal and external stakeholders
- ERP / Computer Savvy: experience using MS Dynamics GP or a similar system is preferred, as well as Microsoft Cloud and/or Google Suites
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
- A team player who is independent yet collaborative, you're always ready to roll up your sleeves and help
Your Experience:
- Accounting degree or diploma (because you know your debits from your credits)
- 2-3 years of AP experience or bookkeeping, retail industry experience is a bonus
