Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Healthcare industry located in York Region, Ontario. The role of an Accountant is pivotal to our team, where you will be responsible for various accounting tasks including processing invoices, billing, and maintaining accurate records. This short-term contract position offers a dynamic workplace environment where you will utilize your skills in accounting to contribute meaningfully to our team.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process vendor invoices and tax remittance payments to accounts payable via coding in the accounting system.
- Execute weekly or monthly billing and pursue collection of any billing exceptions and rejections.
- Prepare bank deposits and record credit card payments.
- Conduct critical account reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
- Act as a liaison with department owners and vendors, assisting in resolving financial related inquiries and obtaining supporting invoices.
- Conduct subledger to General Ledger reconciliation for accounts payable, accrued liabilities, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and various other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of capital asset records and capital expenditure reporting.
- Provide backup duties for Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivables when required.
- Assist with preparing and supporting year-end audit and any other audit/tax return requirements.
- Undertake other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proficient in Account Coding and Accounting Entries
- Experience with Accounting Functions such as Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Billing processes and procedures
- Ability to use MS Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV
- Understanding of ERP Solutions is beneficial
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Healthcare/NHS industry is an advantage
