Role Description:
We are looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage financial records for Kind Laundry and other related businesses, including e-commerce operations. This hybrid position, located in Markham, ON, with remote flexibility, requires someone experienced in handling financial processes such as transaction reconciliation, cost calculation, accrual tracking, and KPI identification. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting our finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile transactions for multiple businesses, including e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Shopify.
- Perform inventory cost calculations and track accruals for accurate financial reporting.
- Handle multi-currency chart of accounts (COAs) and reconcile multi-currency transactions.
- Process invoices, refunds, and payments, ensuring compliance with US and Canadian sales tax regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis.
- Know how to use Class and Label on QuickBooks to prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
- Use tools like A2X, Hubdoc, DEXT, and DXD for automation and efficiency in financial management.
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations and provide financial data for tax filings and audits.
- Communicate with the team via Slack for updates and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing bookkeeping for multiple businesses, including e-commerce. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon) and accounting software like QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of inventory cost calculation, journal entries, and accruals.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions and international markets.
- Solid understanding of US and Canadian sales tax journal entries.
- Experience in using accounting tools such as A2X, Hubdoc, DEXT, and DXD.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and experience using Slack for remote collaboration.
