Job Description
Kitchen Hub is looking for a new team member to join our growing finance and administration team. We are seeking to add a detail-oriented and motivated individual who wishes to utilize their professional experience in a fun and dynamic entrepreneurial company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting activities, maintaining accurate and timely financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and industry best practices.

What You Will Do
- Prepare consistent, timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial statements, including account reconciliations and financial analysis
- Prepare monthly working paper files and year-end audit working paper files within scheduled deadlines
- Oversee general ledger entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all accounts.
- Oversee bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly
- Manage payroll journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations
- Understand, create and post inter-company transactions and assist with month-end intercompany reconciliation
- Identify problem accounts, investigating and resolving issues relating to invoices, payment discrepancies and account reconciliation.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Prepare HST and GST fillings and reconcile related accounts, resolve variances
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as necessary
- Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and training
- Complete ad-hoc projects for internal and external reporting purposes
Qualifications
- Accounting degree, diploma and/or certificate,
- CPA or CPA equivalent designation(s)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a full-cycle accounting role within a small to medium-sized business (ideally in high growth)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and Google Suite software
- Proficiency in Xero or QuickBooks, or a similar accounting software
- Experience with Float, Plooto, 7 Shifts, and Rippling are a plus
- Previous experience in real estate, property management, facilities management, food & beverage, and hospitality is an asset
