The position can be remote within Ontario
As a Senior Accountant, the following duties will be incumbent upon you:
- Independent completion of audit, review, and compilation files, along with related tax preparations
- Preparation of complex segments of the files
- Preparation of personal tax returns - Preparation of corporate tax returns and accompanying tax checklists
- Completion of assignments and oversight of the work performed by others on files
- Mentoring Junior and Intermediate accountants by providing expertise and guidance as necessary
- Fostering effective and enduring working relationships with operational client contacts during assignments
- Reviewing the accuracy of work completed by Junior and Intermediate team members
- Responding effectively and efficiently to inquiries and requests from clients, managers, and partners
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Planning, execution, and completion of files
- Comprehension of technical standards, including the expected level of assistance and supervision
- Cultivating efficient working relationships with clients on assignments
- Managing allocated projects or assignments, including effective time management
- Responding efficiently to inquiries and suggestions from clients, managers, and partners regarding assignments
- Supervising and training junior and intermediate staff members
- Maintaining technical knowledge in regard to IFRS, ASPE, and CAS through participation in educational workshops, review of professional publications, and establishment of personal networks
- Contributing to the team’s efforts by achieving relevant results as required
Summary of Experience:
- A minimum of four years of public accounting experience, demonstrating expertise in both audit and tax fields Requirements:
- Possession of leadership qualities with the ability to support team objectives
- Strong commitment to quality and accuracy in work
- A completed University Accounting degree and a CPA designation or significant progress towards completing it - Development of a business advisory mindset is essential
- Thorough knowledge and experience with ASPE, IFRS, and CAS to effectively address complex areas of an engagement
- Experience with ASPE is required; familiarity with IFRS is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to articulate effectively with clients, managers, and partners
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Caseware, Jazz-it, Tax Prep, QuickBooks, and Simply Accounting
