Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and will work closely with various departments to facilitate effective financial management as it relates to commercial property management and real estate brokerage activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment approvals.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing relevant financial analysis and forecasts.
- Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement in financial operations.
- Collaborate with property manager(s) and Broker to support strategic initiatives and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR minimum 5 years work experience in Accounting Role.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation, accounts payable, and financial auditing.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and techniques is preferred.
- Accounting experience within the real estate industry is considered an asset.
- Experience with Yardi is considered a bonus.
