Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Controller, the Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of monies owing and monitoring of customer risk.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform collection duties on customer and agent accounts.
- Apply payments to customer accounts.
- Maintain credit limits and discuss them as required with CFO and sales team.
- Onboard new customers & process applications.
- Prepare monthly accounts receivable summary.
- Liaise with customers.
- Liaise with Controller, Customer Service, and Sales on problem accounts.
- Provide a pro-active approach in collecting overdue accounts.
- Prepare daily deposits.
- Process customer credit and debit notes.
- Release sales orders with credit block if appropriate.
- Analyse shipping schedule for accounts receivable related issues.
- Invoice container rentals monthly.
- Process agent commissions monthly.
- Approve warranty credits.
- Produce daily, monthly and ad hoc sales reports.
- Adhere to Condair’s Quality Assurance System.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
- Education and Experience: Completion of a post-secondary program is required. Three years relevant experience in Accounts Receivable or Accounting in general is required.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English (reading, writing, spoken) is required; basic knowledge of French an asset Strong verbal and written skills required.
- Ability to Reason: Must be able to deal with constantly shifting priorities. Must possess outstanding communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Solid MS Word/Excel skills are required. SAP knowledge is advantageous.
