Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure the financial health of our organization. Duties:
- Perform financial analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with budgeting processes by preparing and analyzing financial reports
-Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Provide variance analysis of actual results to budget.
-Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, reconciliations, general ledger, etc.
-Organize accounting operations while ensuring compliance with tax, accounting and internal regulations
-Responsible for grant accounting; budgets, grant submissions and reimbursement, etc. Monitor compliance with relevant grant policies.
-Coordinate annual budget and regular updates.
-Process payroll.
-Process payments and ensure compliance with approval policies
-Prepare sales tax and other tax filings
-Coordinate audits for grants, sales tax filings, CRA, etc.
-Assist with CRA SRED claims
-Special projects and other
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role
- Degree in accounting, or related field; certification an asset.
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
-Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and SharePoint
-Strong knowledge of ERP and accounting software. Desirable: Knowledge of Cetec ERP.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
