Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Associate Vice President (AVP), Accounting on a permanent basis to support our Finance business unit. This position requires onsite work, with flexibility, based in Saskatoon, SK.

What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic direction to our accounting teams including our Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), Retail and FCL ensuring they are equipped with the processes, knowledge, and direction to support the long-term vision of our Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).
- Lead the accounting teams to successfully execute and achieve the department's goals and objectives. Build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of others.
- Lead the Corporate Accounting team and be responsible for the operating budget process for FCL and CRC, and all aspects of the financial year end, including reporting, stakeholder engagement and the external audit.
- Oversee the development and presentation of FCL’s consolidated financial statements. Ensure presentations meet the audience's needs and are supported by high quality financial analysis with appropriate data, analytical tools, frameworks and methodologies.
- Oversee the annual audit process, including liaising with external audit partners to discuss planning, execution, and key issues for the FCL and IT audits. Attending the audit committee meetings as the key Finance expert.
- Lead the Retail Accounting team in their delivery of monthly and annual financial statements for 80 local Co-ops, be a key contact for each Co-op, and work closely with other key stakeholders across the organization throughout the process.
- Lead the CRC Accounting team through their deliverables including monthly operating and financial reporting, capital reporting, participation in Refinery Leadership meetings, and reviewing key compliance reporting.
- Minimal travel required within Western Canada.

You will guide various business units, will be responsible for 3 direct reports and advise on their teams, including the Corporate Accounting, Retail Accounting, and CRC Accounting teams. You will report to the Vice President (VP), Finance and promote a culture of employee engagement, continuous improvement and innovation with a commitment to quality.

You are looking for a career in Finance and:
- Have 10+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in financial management and leadership.
- Have a university degree in Business or Commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
