Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will manage the accounts payable team. You will act as the main contact for dealership Controllers and serve as a liaison between the dealerships and the accounts payable team. Work Location: You will work onsite at the New Home of Volvo Cars Halifax in Bayers Lake, NS.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead the accounts payable team, providing guidance, coaching, and training as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze accounts payable processes to identify areas for improvement and increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and automation tools to streamline AP operations.
Invoice Processing:
- Assist with the processing of incoming invoices as needed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Address and resolve issues related to accounts payable promptly.
- Make informed decisions to enhance team performance and task completion.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Manage month-end reporting for accounts payable across multiple dealerships.
- Generate reports and provide analysis related to accounts payable, offering insights to management on spending patterns and trends.
Collaboration:
- Maintain a close working relationship with dealership Controllers and assist with accounts payable items as needed.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient AP operations.
Skills and Attributes:
- Post-secondary education in accounting
- 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting role, with 1-2 years’ expereince in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient with YOOZ application software, considered and asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
