John Ross & Sons Ltd. is a fourth generation, family-owned, scrap metal recycler. The company is the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 70 years, primarily in Halifax. John Ross & Sons Ltd. specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.
Position Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. The individual must possess strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. This position reports to the VP Finance.
Primary Responsibilities are

Account and general ledger reconciliations

Assist with cash management entries

Other accounting support duties

Accounts payable entry

Accounts receivable entry

Administration: reports, data entry, filing
Desired Skills and Experience
-
Experience reconciling general ledgers an asset

Full accounting cycle experience an asset

Experience in an accounts receivable/payable role

Intermediate Excel skills
-
Completion of an Accounting diploma/certification or equivalent experience

Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written – as well as computer proficiency
Hours of Operation
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5: 00pm
