As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing our day-to-day financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, analytical, and eager to grow their accounting skills in a dynamic business environment. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial record-keeping, assist with payroll, and support various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
- Provide support to finance team as required
- Provide frequent reports and updates to finance team on any outstanding accounts
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets.
- Reconcile discrepancies in accounting records and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor cash flow and report any financial risks or discrepancies to management.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors as required.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for all financial documents.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a commercial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of Canadian tax regulations and accounting principles is an asset.

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
