Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join CANAL as an Accounts Receivable and Payable Associate. Progression is a definite opportunity for the role as the company grows.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and send invoices to clients
- Work collaboratively with the accounting team and project managers to ensure billing accuracy
- Contact clients when necessary to ensure payment of outstanding invoices.
- Process customer Visa payments as required
- Print and distribute customer outstanding balance statements as needed
- Submit and complete requests for new customer set up within the company ERP
- Post AP invoices in ERP and assist with weekly AP run.
- Manage and balance petty cash
- Assist with generating and submitting project reporting
- Assist with various Health and Safety duties
- Share reception duties with co-workers
- Perform bank deposits as required
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience
- Proficient in the use of Office365 products: Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, including familiarity with lookup functions and pivot tables
- Experience working within Enterprise Resource Planning systems
- Experience dealing with holdback billing is an asset

- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer relation skills including the ability to handle potentially challenging interactions with clients.
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to manage a diverse workload while prioritizing time
