20- month CONTRACT
Location: Ayr, Ontario
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 8:00AM-4:30PM; Friday 8:00AM-2:00PM
Primary responsibilities:
- Processing accounts receivable and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Address any Accounts Receivable discrepancies with customers. ex. request debits and obtain approvals
- Send monthly statements to customers
- Assist with necessary changes/credits/pricing issues for posting adjustments
- Provide daily interaction with remittance details to financial institutions
- Download and edit remittance details from customer portals
- Upload invoices into Customer Portals where required
- Verify contracts for the Sales Dept & Samples Dept
- Perform clerical duties, such as printing, matching, filing and sending invoices to customers per their requirements
- Enter Prem. Freight on the Logistics Portal
- Assist in financial analysis/reporting and year-end audit preparation.
- Assist in the daily operations and other duties of the accounting team as assigned. ex: place office orders, EDI etc.
- Assist the Controller with any requests and/or inquires
- Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data
- Preparing bills receivable, invoices and bank deposits
Qualifications (education & skills required):
- Completed post-Secondary education in a Business or Accounting discipline
- Minimum of 1- 3 years related accounting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create and utilize formulas, import CSV files, pivot tables and work within multi-tab spreadsheets
- Hands-on experience with ERP system preferably Epicor or Solarsoft (CMS)
Must have:
- Consistently demonstrate ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
- Strong aptitude for performing repetitive tasks in an organized manner in a high-pressure environment, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to interruptions while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to management’s directions
- Exceptional communication skills that have been demonstrated through conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is required.
- Diplomacy, tact, and professionalism when interacting with all team members
- Demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented approach to daily work
