Colonial Auto Parts, Atlantic Canada's largest independent auto parts supplier, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a three quarter time Accounts Payable Clerk.

You are required to work 30 hours per week, but you can set your own schedule for the days or hours you work between Monday - Friday 8 am -5 pm.

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This is a vital role within our organization, as it directly impacts our financial operations.

Duties:

· Verify accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents

· Code and enter invoices into the accounting system

· Prepare and perform check runs

· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

· Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions

· Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent and an accounting diploma / certificate from a training institute preferred or a combination of experience and education

· Three years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role

· Proficient in using accounting software such as Sage 300, Sage 50, or Simply Accounting would be a definite asset

· Proficiency in Excel

· Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

An acceptable law enforcement letter of clearance is a requirement for hiring.
