We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team.

Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of financial accounting and reporting, together with establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. We are a small business, and we are looking for a candidate who possesses the right attitude and skill set to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare financial business plans and targets, including operations, cash flow and capital spending forecasts
- Participate in the preparation of detailed sales projections in conjunction with the sales team
- Lead cost control by making recommendations for all departments and sourcing alternatives
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting and financial operating functions including account reconciliations, A/R, A/P, internal expense reporting, capital asset spending, cash flow management, and related functions
- Oversee in-house preparation of payroll, including remittances of source deductions and WCB payable, and preparation of T4s
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for submission to the Board of Directors
- Coordinate the provision of annual year-end information to external accountants
- Analyze internal data to provide department heads with relevant and useful information for decision-making purposes
- Analyze key variances and monitor the progress of action plans to improve results
- Establish best practices and ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place for effective internal control
- Ensure regulatory compliance including Excise, WSIB, Liquor Board, GST, etc.
- Supervise and manage performance of bookkeeper
- Oversee all Human Resource functions, including benefits administration, policy creation and enforcement, and participation in disciplinary action as required
- Provide operational support to the General Manager and other department heads
Qualifications
- CPA professional designation is preferred, but industry experience is welcomed
- Minimum of 3 years’ business experience, brewery or manufacturing industry preferred
- Candidate must be highly motivated and adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying expectations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong aptitude for technology and digitizing processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Sage Accounting, and QuickBooks Online
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Always maintain a friendly and professional demeanor
- Be a motivated and enthusiastic team contributor
- Ability to exercise good judgment and show initiative
