Junior Controller
Island Window Coverings is seeking a Junior Controller. Position is located in Victoria, BC.
Individual must have great attention to detail, be a quick learner and be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Individual will be responsible for basic financial needs of the company, including payroll and payroll remittances, account reconciliations, preparation of internal monthly financial statements, government remittances including source deductions, GST, PST, Worksafe BC, Employer Health Tax, corporate tax instalments, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
CPA Designation with a minimum of two years previous accounting and/or bookkeeping experience is preferred. Individual must be proficient with MS Office, Outlook and particularly Excel. Experience with Sage 300 and Adagio is also an asset.
Individual must have strong communication and organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work independently with little supervision.
Duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
-Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting of capital assets and other financial management functions
-Proficient knowledge of AP, AR, General Ledger
-Reconcile bank statements, intercompany transactions, and general ledger accounts
-Leading and completing the month end process, including completing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Analysis).
-Leading and completing payroll processing and ensuring timely and accurate execution
-Oversee company benefit program and insurance policy negotiations
-Prepare and complete commission reports for the payroll.
-Complete monthly GST and PST returns
-Managing WorkSafe BC return & BC health tax returns on behalf of the company
-Provide financial and system support to management and ownership.
-Liaise with external accountants for year end engagement audit and tax filing
-Complete year end working papers for assigned companies
Business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
Wage based on candidate.
