We are looking for an independent contractor who loves helping people, has strong numerical skills, and is experienced in full-cycle bookkeeping, with experience in Non-Profit environments.
What You Will Be Doing
As a trusted advisor, you will work remotely from your own home office, using cutting-edge technology to provide a full suite of services. These services will include:
- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, full-cycle bookkeeping, financial reporting, and payroll administration.
- Recording daily transactions, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Performing junior finance, accounting, and administrative functions.
- Enjoying the flexibility of working remotely from your home office.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing non-profit bookkeeping.
- Monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts, including cash, credit card, and bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and maintaining payroll and related government remittances/filings.
- Creating new client files, issuing billing, and managing service subscriptions.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports.
Who You Are
- You are a self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- You excel at time management and are detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- You have a strong understanding of financial concepts and principles.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and financial report writing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- You're experienced with accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online and familiar with other tools like Dext, Financial Cents, Slack, Office 365, Dropbox, TurboTax, and Zoom.
What You Bring
- A Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation is an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping.
- Experience with non-profit bookkeeping is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
