Responsibilities
- Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks and building sales targets and budgets
- Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
- Responsible for the full cycle accounting operation, including general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, financial statement preparation, and analysis
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights into senior management for decision-making and budget forecasting
- Responsible for all day-to-day accounting including AP/AR, job cost accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, Work-In-Process reporting, General Ledger maintenance and control of assets
- Contribute to improving the efficiency of our processes
- Collaborate with other departments to support strategic planning and operational efficiency
- Assist with special pricing projects, as necessary
- Analysis of capital investment decisions for proposed expenditures
- payroll management, benefits, administration, and compliance with Labour laws
- Oversee the company’s finance IT system (Business Vision)
- Set targets for and supervise accounting and administration employees (AP/AR, etc.)
- Oversee all audit and internal control operations
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
- Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to management team
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines (Provincial & Federal Government reporting requirements & tax filings, etc.)
Requirements and skills
- 3-5 years proven experience as a Director of Finance, controller, finance manager or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (knowledge of Sage 300)
- Working knowledge of payroll processes
- Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure
- Excellent organizational with an ability to prioritize important tasks
- Possess strong leadership skills and business acumen
- Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster new and maintain long-standing business relationships
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
- Outstanding communication skills, both orally and written; skilled in the art of negotiation
- Deadline orientated with a strong attention to detail
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
- CPA designation or working towards qualification a requirement

Pay: $120,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
