Property Accountant
Requirements:
2 – 5 years experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of the accounting cycle.
Working knowledge of Property Management Software
Candidates with the following requirements will be given higher consideration
Buildium Software
Familiarity with Sage 50 Accounting Software
Knowledge of Lone Wolf Back Office Software would be a definite asset but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable - Rent Payment – receiving and processing rents. Advise tenant of outstanding balances and communication with Team on delinquent accounts.
- Accounts Payable - Receiving and paying vendor invoices, updating task in Software program “Buildium”, inputting new tasks for any follow up notes identified on the vendor’s invoice. Reimbursement of security/pet deposit.
- Account reconciliations and analysis.
- Coordinates, tracks, and completes the rent increase notices for Property Manager review and signing and then delivers (mail/email as appropriate).
- Utilities – Entering and paying utility invoices. Setting up and closing utility accounts. Applying appropriate charge to tenants for their portion of utility payments.
- Statements – Processing monthly/annual statements for property owners.
- Maintaining Non-Resident accounts, processing the NR4 payments/accounts monthly and filling year end summary and statement.
- Communication with landlords/tenants/staff regarding payment/statement/ledger questions.
- Various administrative tasks to support the department.
- Responding to tenant and owner inquiries.

Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Working knowledge and experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Compensation:
Salary range: $52,000 - $58,000 annually.
This role has the potential to expand based on candidate’s knowledge and abilities. Salary may be negotiable based on experience and expertise.
Hours:
On site - Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is not a remote position.
