Purtzki Johansen & Associates, is a Chartered Professional Accounting firm consisting of more than 40 staff with offices located in Nanaimo and Vancouver. Our firm specializes in advising and providing accounting and tax services to healthcare professionals and owner-managed businesses.

Responsiblities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank statements
- Reconciling accounts monthly and resolving any discrepancies or errors
- Processing and recording financial transactions, including journal entries and general ledger entries
- Preparing and analyzing financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
- Monitoring expenses
- Assisting with the preparing of financial statements
- Monitoring accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain and update employee information, such as records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements
- Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
- Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits
- Provide information on payroll matters and benefit plans
- Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Skills and qualifications required:
- 2+ years experience in bookkeeping and payroll roles
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft office
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
