Day shift (Monday to Friday)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
· Supervise the Accounts Payable department ensuring that invoices are paid in a timely manner and are properly recorded within the accounting system.
· Co-ordinate activities within the various accounting departments to provide good internal control and see that the staffing is adequate, the personnel properly trained, and each department is well organized to carry out its required functions.
· Monitor all source documents and out-put reports to ensure that they are timely, accurate and comply to the requirements set out in the accounting procedures manual
· Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies
· Approve cash receipts and ensure that they are applied to the correct invoices
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
· Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
· Assist in annual budgeting
· Assist in external auditing
· Prepare regular journal entries
· Manage vendor and customer profiles
· Prepare quarterly and year-end working papers
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Controller and VP
REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE :
•Experience working in a similar role with a minimum of 3-years of previous experience
•Completion of post-secondary studies at a university level would be considered an asset
•Knowledge of transportation industry would be considered an asset
•Knowledge with use of TruckMate would be considered an asset
•Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment
•Strong verbal and written English communication skills
•Excellent business and problem solving abilities
•Strong analytical sense, with excellent attention to detail
•Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a member of a team
•Be creative, flexible and able to drive/ guide change
•Strong excel skills to analyze AR data, proactively identify issues and generate solutions
Experience:
Accounts Receivable: 5 years (Preferred)
Credit Management: 3 years (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
