About the role
Looking for technology-driven accountants looking to shape the future of accounting technology. As Quanto's Junior Accountant, you’ll sit at the intersection of Accounting, Customer Experience, and Product Development. Use your accounting expertise to serve fast-growing businesses, powered by Quanto's automation technology, while collaborating with our engineering team to design the ideal accounting platform.
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly bookkeeping tasks for 20-30 clients, leveraging AI tools to categorize transactions, prepare reports, and monitor accounts for accuracy
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual sales tax, focusing on maximizing eligible tax credits for clients
- Provide monthly financial reports and analysis using QuickBooks, translating data into insights to help clients make informed business decisions
- Partner with our engineering team to refine Quanto’s AI algorithms for bookkeeping workflows and tax preparation
- Help onboard new clients, ensuring they fully leverage Quanto’s platform as well as existing systems like Quickbooks
- Provide valuable insights into the financial pain points of SMBs to inform product enhancements.
- Act as the face of Quanto’s accounting expertise, engaging directly with SMB founders and executives
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of bookkeeping and/or small-medium sized accounting experience
- Interest or already pursuing CPA designation
- Proficient with accounting software (E.g. Quickbooks, Xero, Wave) and experience with emerging fintech solutions (e.g. Plooto, Float, A2X)
- Passionate about helping business owners make better financial decisions.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment; willing to contribute beyond accounting as part of an early-stage team.
- Excited to work in person at our downtown Toronto office 175 Bloor Street East (across Bloor / Yonge Subway Station)
Bonus qualifications:
- Background in AI-based tools or data-driven accounting workflows.
- CPA and/or Quickbooks Pro-Certified Advisor designation
