Job Description
Accountant’s key responsibilities include cost, inventory and Oracle project administration, operational reporting, process improvement, business partnering, compliance and audit, and other duties and responsibilities..
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Product Costing – Maintain, Review, and Update the standard costs
- Cost Allocation – Maintain cost allocation models to distribute costs across products, projects or departments accurately. Review and refine allocation methodologies to ensure they reflect the true costs of operations. Work with departmental managers to provide accurate and consistent cost allocation.
- Inventory Analysis and Reporting – Generate and analyze inventory reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare detailed reports for management. Oversee the costing of inventory, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting. Utilize technology and software tools to automate inventory management tasks and improve accuracy. Validate data and ensure the accuracy of data, data analysis and reporting.
- Oracle Project Administration – Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets, monitor project expenses and revenues, ensuring they are recorded accurately and align with the project budget. Manage project billing, including preparing and submitting invoices to the customers in accordance with contract terms and conditions. Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Reconcile project accounts and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and reported.
- Variance analysis – Conduct detailed variance analysis to compare actual costs to standard costs. Investigate and report on the root causes of variances. Work closely with production and operation teams to address variances and improve cost-control measures
- Month-End Close – Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, and account reconciliations related to cost accounting.
- Compliance and Audits – Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards. Support internal audit processes by providing accurate cost-related documentation and explanations. Continuously monitor and improve cost accounting processes to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Be trained and able to cover other tasks and roles in the department, as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education/Professional Certification:
- Bachelors or Diploma in in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience
- 3+ years of accounting experience, including costing and data analysis.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Oracle ERP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Physical Effort
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves mainly sitting at desk and performing computer work. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
Travel
Not Required.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid - Minimum of 2 days wfo
