This role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, and handling various other financial tasks critical to our operations.

Job Description:
- Keep track of expenses and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform payroll processing, including calculating salaries, benefits, and remittances.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for review by accountants.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including tracking payments and invoices.
- Collaborate with external accountants by preparing and providing organized financial records for tax filings (personal and business).
- Assist with GST/HST tracking and remittances.
- Monitor financial performance and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Maintain compliance with government regulations and ensure financial records are audit-ready.
- Enter financial data into accounting software accurately and update records regularly.
- Create ad-hoc financial reports and provide insights into spending trends.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information.
- Post and process adjusting journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
Job Qualification:
- Minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Wave and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and tax regulations.
- Proven experience with bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, and receivable management.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and external accountants.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
- Familiarity with Canadian tax laws (GST/HST) and payroll regulations is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
