The Position & How You Will Contribute:
We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer. Based in York Region in a hybrid working environment and reporting to the CEO you’ll be a key member of the executive team. .In this dynamic position, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development of telMAX’s growth strategy and in the execution of its financial plan. You’ll oversee the finance and administrative functions of the organization but importantly you’ll bring your business acumen and passion for success to drive growth and create value at telMAX.
Responsibilities:
Strategy, Planning and Management
- Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team.
- Assess, evaluate and provide actionable insights into the performance of organization considering both short-term and long-term objectives of the organization.
- Improve and enhance systems and processes to ensure efficient operations including identifying areas for optimization and automation.
- Regularly engage with the Board of Directors, investors and prospective investors.
- Be prepared to take a leadership role on M&A exploration and capital raise activity.
- Lead the financial analysis and returns analysis for capital projects, including fiber builds.
- Oversee financials audits, tax compliance, and other compliance matters.
- Oversee the preparation of regular reporting to management, regulators and investors.
- Develop, recruit and optimize the human resources that make up the CFO team.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Prepare and communicate, with insight, monthly results (financial and operational).
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide and drive recommendations to improve business performance.
- Lead the FP&A function of telMAX, including developing and maintaining multi-year financial forecasts.
- Oversee the management of a large capital program
- Supervise creation of enhancement of tools and processes for budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
- Manage debt compliance activities and capital structure management / optimization, and bank reporting.
Human Resources & Administration
- Oversee the Human Resources function to maximize telMAX’s success.
- Oversee and ensure the effectiveness of the logistics function including procurement, inventory management and warehousing.
- Oversee Administrative functions including Contract, Legal, Fleet and Facilities management to ensure compliance and optimal outcomes.
- Facilitate the efficient functioning of the interactions between the Board of Directors and Management including acting as the Corporate Secretary.
About You:
- You have a financial designation (CA/CPA) combined with a relevant University Degree
- You’ve likely been a Chief Financial Officer before or held similar responsibilities
- You got excellent communication skills
- You’ve got experience that includes accounting, financial planning and analysis along with developing and implementing strategy
- You’ve had experience with M&A and raising capital, particularly with private capital.
- Ideally, you’ve got experience with the build and operation of digital infrastructure.
- You can demonstrate excellent analytical, critical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Naturally you are results oriented and comfortable working in an environment that is rapidly changing. You’ve got a knack for getting results while driving change.
- You manage with metrics and seek continuous improvement.
